On Saturday, March 2, 2019 Colorado Gerontological Society is hosting their major senior event, “The Salute”. This year the event is “The Salute to Wild West”. Colorado Gerontological Society is celebrating its 30th year in 2019 of hosting this event. This year’s “Salute” recognizes the history of the west and celebrates the frontier spirit that built Colorado. The culture of the West will be on full display, from country and rock n’ roll music to cowboy poetry, with historical exhibits from the History Colorado Center, the Forney Museum of Transportation and the Buffalo Bill Museum, Wild West Bingo, and everything in between! Wear your best Wild West costume for a chance to win our Grand Prize, tickets to see Neil Diamond in concert!

This event attracts over 2,500 visitors. The Salute is Colorado’s largest senior expo for 30 years, with information, resources, live entertainment, games, prizes and more! The first Salute to Seniors was held in 1990 with a guest performance by actress Alice Faye. Since then, The Salute has featured entertainers such as Jerry Mathers (“Leave It To Beaver”), Shirley Jones (“The Partridge Family”), Arthur Duncan (“The Lawrence Welk Show”), and Jack LaLanne (“The Jack LaLanne Show”). The resource fair and expo at “The Salute” brings together over 100 exhibitors showcasing support services, housing options, social experiences, educational opportunities, health care resources and more.
